The James A. Dever School hosted the District 13 Board of Education meeting on Nov. 24. Principal Darren Gruen gave a presentation on the district's health, wellness and character education programs.
First-grade students demonstrated an exercise program they do twice a day in class, Activity Works, through a partnership with North Shore-LIJ. The activity is designed so students continue learning as they work to stay fit. A sixth-grade class from Dever performed a rap about the district's anti-bullying program.
