A Cedarhurst man was arrested for allegedly burglarizing a Valley Stream auto body shop early on Sunday, police said.
At around 1 a.m., the owner of Touch of Class Collision on East Hawthorne Avenue reported that the alarm at his shop had gone off and called 911, police said, providing them with a description of a suspect.
Officers then reportedly found 21-year-old Jorge Santizo-Lanuza of Cedarhurst nearby and arrested him. Police charged him with third-degree buglary, third-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree grand larceny, third-degree unauthorized use of a vehicle and fifth-degree possession of stolen property. He was arraigned on Monday at the Mineola courthouse.
