Culinary students show their stuff

Students in the Valley Stream Central High School District’s culinary arts program showed of their skills at the school’s annual culinary classic event on May 21.
Peter Aguello, teacher and chef, led students in preparation of a grand buffet-style dinner. More than 100 hungry residents turned out to enjoy the fruits of their labor, including many school officials and the families of the students.
The food provided a showcase for students to display what they had learned in the program, which focuses on everything from food preparation to how to work at different cooking stations.
