Halloween robbery in Valley Stream

Nassau County Police are investigating an attempted robbery in Valley Stream on Halloween night. According to police, a 28-year-old man was walking eastbound on West Valley Stream Boulevard at about 9 p.m. when he was approached by a group of five teens.

One of the suspects stepped in front of the man and demanded money. When the victim ignored him and attempted to continue on, he was struck on the side of the with an unknown object and knocked to the ground. The man got to his feet and ran to safety.

The suspects, described as black of Hispanic males, fled northbound on Bucknell Road. The man who demanded the money is described as a Hispanic male, 14 to 17 years old, 5-foot-8 wearing a maroon sweatshirt and dark jeans. The victim was treated for a cut, but did not require any further medical attention.
