Spartan run draws racers galore

And they're off! The second annual Spartan 5K run was held last Saturday morning.

Valley Stream North High School hosted its second annual Spartan Run/Walk last Saturday morning featuring more than 100 runners. The 5K race began at the school’s track and continued through the neighborhood, with water stations set up throughout the local streets.
Participants raised money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society as well as for the school. The event was hosted by the Class of 2011 and the track and field team. Winners in each age group received medals. Before the main race, there was a fun run for children under 12.
