Summer program graduates 15

Fifteen students graduated from the Valley Stream Central High School District’s summer school program. A dozen of them were on hand to receive their diplomas at the Commencement Exercises on Aug. 14 at South High School.

The graduates were Ernie Abreu, Frankie DeLeon, Brian Dunlop, Khaled Elbassiouni, Gerald Purvis and Brian Rooney from Central High School; Laura Barone, Victor Cayotopa, Lauren Lagomarsine, Craig McCoy, Pedro Montoya and Russell Ramos Jr. from North High School; and Lawrence Duncan, Andrew Seravalli and Christian Valle from South High School.

Summer School Assistant Principal Amy La Personerie opened the ceremony offering congratulatory remarks and praise for the graduates in attendance that had the “self-discipline and perseverance to complete all of the graduation requirements.” Board of Education trustees Elise Antonelli and William P. Stris were present as well as members of the high school district’s administrative team Dr. Thomas Troisi, Dr. Bill Heidenreich and Dr. Tracey Nekulak.
