Teen robbed of iPod in Valley Stream west end

Nassau County Police report that a teenager walking through the west end of Valley Stream was robbed on Thursday evening.

According to police, at 6 p.m. on July 21, a 16-year-old male was walking north on Carroll Avenue, listening to his iPod, when he was approached by a man walking from the other direction. The robbed demanded the teen's iPod and threatened to shoot him. He displayed a black and silver handgun.

The teen handed over his iPod to the robber, who then fled on foot northbound. The robber then got into the driver's side of a green four-door Toyota Corolla. The license plate began with EKC. The vehicle then fled northbound.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5-foot7 to 5-foot-8 with a slim build and dark complexion, wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
