Two street robberies in two days in Valley Stream

Nassau County Police are investigating two street robberies in two days in Valley Stream.

The first robbery occurred Monday evening, when, police say a 16-year-old male walking home from a Valley Stream high school was attacked from behind. The robbery occurred at Central and West Jamaica avenues on March 28 at 7:35 p.m.

Police say the robber hit the victim in the jaw with an unknown object, then stole his cell phone and cash before fleeing. The victim, who required medical treatment at a nearby hospital, did not see the robber and there is no description of the suspect.

On Tuesday, at about 4 p.m., a 20-year-old male was walking home from Central High School on McKeon Avenue when he was approached by two men. One of the robbers stepped in front of the victim and the other came up from behind. They grabbed him by the neck, pulled him to the ground and kicked the victim in the head and face. The robbers then stole his property and fled eastbound on McKeon.

Those suspects are described as two black males. One was wearing a leather jacket. Police say there is no further description.
