Nassau County police reported the arrest on Saturday of a Valley Stream man who was allegedly impersonating a police officer.
Third Precinct detectives said that around 12:25 a.m. Hempstead police officers observed Keneik Brown, 27, committing multiple traffic infractions while driving a 2008 Mercedes Benz in Hempstead. After they pulled him over, Brown reportedly claimed that he was a Nassau County police officer. While searching his car, police reportedly found a name tag, tie clip, handcuff keys, a replica BB gun, duty belt, armor plate carrier dashboard light navy blue pants and an empty holster.
Brown was charged with second-degree criminal impersonation of a police officer and multiple traffic violations. He is due back in court on April 10 at the First District Court in Hempstead.
