One woman was sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries on Sept. 8 when the car she was driving on Rockaway Avenue was struck by an SUV near the intersection with West Lincoln Avenue.

The Valley Stream Fire Department responded to the crash at approximately 4:45 p.m. with Truck 345 and two members of Rescue One, according to Chief Charlie Brocher.

The injured woman was extricated through the driver side door and transported to Franklin Hospital, he said. Her husband was a passenger in the vehicle and was uninjured. The driver of the SUV was its lone occupant and was also uninjured, Brocher said.
