Sirens blared and tires squealed as a white Chevy Caprice banked hard into a curve at Jones Beach State Park after peeling down a straightaway at 50 miles per hour last Thursday. Meanwhile, a black Crown Victoria cruiser raced across to cut the vehicle off at a four-way intersection. The Caprice braked hard as it neared the stop sign. more

Nancy Lieberman Charities, founded by the iconic and groundbreaking basketball player from Queens, is donating five new hoops courts valued at $325,000 to Nassau County. Two of the locations are in the Five Towns – Inwood Park and North Woodmere Park – the third is Wantagh Park with the two remaining sites to be identified by the county in the near future, officials said. more
