Arrests made during ‘Project 21’ investigation

The Second Precinct of the Nassau County police department arrested four men during the “project 21” initiative on Oct. 11. The initiative targets the sale of alcohol and tobacco products to minors.

According to officers, the following individuals were arrested:

Mohamad Hasan, 62, of Elmhurst, sold tobacco products to a minor at Star Bazzar on North Broadway in Hicksville. He was charged with unlawfully dealing with a child and sale of age restricted products.

Edward Coughlin, 39, of Seaford, sold alcohol to a minor at Village Beverage on Bayville Avenue in Bayville. He was charged with prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage and ulwafully dealing with a child.

Tony Torres Navarro, 42, of Locust Valley, sold alcohol to a minor at Country Plaza Deli in Locust Valley. He was charged with prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage and unlawfully dealing with a child.

Vikram Billa, 27, of Glen Cove, was charged with unlawfully dealing with a child and sale of age restricted products.
