Ambulances rushed one teacher and 14 students Thursday afternoon from Camp Avenue School in North Merrick to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow due to possible carbon monoxide poisoning. A Chevy Tahoe burst into flames Monday afternoon on the northbound side of the Meadowbrook State Parkway near Babylon Turnpike. Several congregants of the Greek Orthodox church said that the building, at 2421 Hewlett Ave., had emptied an hour earlier, after an evening service, so no one from the church was hurt, but the blaze caused extensive damage. more
