East Rockaway Recreation hosted its annual Easter Egg Hunt last Saturday — and even the wind and a little cold air couldn’t keep away the local children — or the Easter Bunny, who showed up to greet the crowd. Eggs were scattered around the John Street Complex starting at 10 a.m. as children scramled to collect them — many hoping to find the coveted Golden Egg (for a special prize.) Every child went home with a bag of goodies (put together by members of Life’s Worc in East Rockaway) and with a smile on their collective faces. Happy Easter! more

The news came in a letter from Jacqueline Murray, the lawyer representing Crown Communications, the company that has held a contract with New York state’s Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation to develop cell towers on state land since 1997. more
