The Long Beach Chamber of Commerce donated to City Hall a 10-foot long, two-panel photographic view of "The City by the Sea” in all its autumn-light glory. The two panels that capture Long Beach from its easterly borders to the orange-gold setting sun to the west was photographed by Constantine Abatzidis of Enhance a Photo. Abatzidis took the photo on the roof of City Hall. "The idea was suggested by Alan B. Wolfer, a retired attorney and avid photographer who campaigned for art work to be installed in City Hall,” said City Manager Charles Theofan. The Chamber offered to pay for the printing and installation of the mural. Located on the fifth floor, visitors and employees can "step" into the mural as they step out of the elevator. Pictured beside the mural are, from left, Mark Tannenbaum, chamber executive vice president; Larry Elovich, chamber chairman; Mona Goodman, City Council vice president; Theofan; Michael Kerr, chamber president; Warren Vegh, chamber executive director; and Wolfer.
