The Baldwin school district has earned national recognition in Niche’s 2027 Best Schools and District rankings, receiving an overall A grade and securing a spot on the platform’s list of Best School Districts in America for the first time.

The district ranked No. 865 out of more than 10,000 school districts evaluated nationwide.

The ranking reflects Baldwin’s performance across several factors, including academic performance, extracurricular opportunities, data from the U.S. Department of Education and feedback from current students, alumni and parents.

“While rankings are only one measure of a school district, this recognition reflects our rigorous academic offerings, including access to an extensive catalog of Advanced Placement and dual enrollment courses, as well as our innovative programs and learning spaces, nationally recognized arts and athletics, and career-connected opportunities through our School2Career curriculum, all of which we have worked diligently to develop and advance over the years,” said Superintendent Anthony Mignella. “Together with our 99% graduation rate, this achievement speaks to the collective efforts of our dedicated faculty and staff, families, Board of Education and community partners, who all play a vital role in providing our students with an exceptional education.”

For the 2027 rankings, Baldwin also earned recognition in several state and county categories. In New York, the district ranked No. 57 of 595 school districts for athletics, No. 62 of 609 for most diverse school districts and No. 105 of 597 among the best school districts in the state overall.

In Nassau County, Baldwin ranked No. 9 of 43 districts for athletics and No. 10 of 53 for diversity.

In addition to its overall A grade, the district received individual A grades in the categories of diversity, teachers, college preparation, clubs and activities, and sports.

The district continues to emphasize its vision for the future, remaining focused on ensuring that every student develops the knowledge, experiences and Future-Ready Competencies, known as the 6Cs – critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity, civics and character – to prepare students for success beyond the classroom.

“This recognition is another point of pride for our entire community and an example of what it means to be #WeAreBaldwin,” Mignella said.
