Animal lovers can test their luck while helping homeless pets when Posh Pets Rescue hosts its Summer Bingo Blast fundraiser on Saturday, July 25, at Levittown Hall in Hicksville.
The event is chaired by longtime Baldwin resident Mary Brancato, who hopes to see plenty of neighbors come out to support the nonprofit rescue organization.
"I am a longtime Baldwin resident, and I am chairing this event for a wonderful rescue," Brancato said. "Support from Baldwin means the world to me."
Doors open at 5 p.m., with bingo beginning at 6 p.m. at Levittown Hall, 201 Levittown Parkway. Tickets are $40 and include eight games of bingo, coffee, tea and dessert. Organizers said tickets must be purchased in advance and will not be sold at the door.
In addition to bingo, the evening will feature raffle baskets, a 50/50 drawing, a wine pull, door prizes and jackpot prizes. Brancato said the raffle offerings include themed baskets for college students, fathers and children.
"This isn’t your grandma's bingo," she wrote in a social media post. "Our raffle baskets are epic."
All proceeds will benefit Posh Pets Rescue and help cover veterinary care for animals in the organization's care. The Long Island-based nonprofit rescues abandoned, neglected and homeless cats and dogs, providing medical treatment, foster homes and adoption services.
"Every dollar we make goes directly to veterinary care for the animals in our care," Brancato wrote. "It's a great way to spend a summer evening and help animals."
Tickets can be purchased through Venmo at @poshpetsrescue, with "Bingo" included in the payment note. Questions can be directed to maryposhpets@gmail.com.
