Twelve local bowlers are set to compete at the state bowling competition in Elmira, scheduled for March 4, following the Nassau County High School Singles Tournament, hosted by Garden City Bowl on Feb. 11.

As a lifelong Giants fan, Zachary Borst, of Merrick, watched intently on Sunday as his beloved Giants took on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. But Borst had even more incentive to watch the Super Bowl than most –– a commercial that he wrote, filmed and produced will air during the game.

Now the Jets, who also topped Nassau County with an average team pinfall of nearly 840, have their sights set on the big prize — the county championship.
