Two East Rockaway students earned third place in the SIFMA Foundation’s Spring 2026 Stock Market Game Middle School Competition, finishing among the top teams on Long Island.

Noah Papa, a sixth grader at Rhame Avenue Elementary School, and Max Keitel, a sixth grader at Centre Avenue Elementary School, received medals and $50 e-gift cards after placing third in the curriculum-based investing competition.

The Stock Market Game gives students a virtual $100,000 portfolio to invest in stocks, bonds, mutual funds and exchange-traded funds. Throughout the competition, teams track market trends, analyze current events and make investment decisions while learning about economics, math and financial literacy.

The East Rockaway team finished behind first-place Woodmere Middle School and second-place Long Island School for the Gifted.

The SIFMA Foundation has operated the Stock Market Game since 1977, helping students develop financial and investing skills through hands-on experience.
