Electrical fire displaces residents at an Elmont home, firefighter suffers minor injury

An electrical fire displaced residents from an Elmont home Friday evening and left one firefighter with minor injuries, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Police said officers responded to a residential fire at 8:09 p.m. July 3 at 192 Lincoln St. Upon arrival, they observed flames coming from the second floor of the home.

The Elmont Fire Department, along with several neighboring fire departments, responded and extinguished the blaze.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries but declined medical attention at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross responded to assist the displaced residents.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal and Arson Bomb Squad investigated the incident and determined the fire was caused by an electrical issue. The fire is not considered suspicious.

The investigation remains ongoing.
