Lisa Johannes, 18, was arrested on May 5, at 2:30 p.m., after attacking her boyfriend with a razor blade she pulled from her waistband. According to the Nassau County Police Department’s 5th Precinct, Johannes, of Seville Street in Elmont, was involved in an argument with her 21-year-old boyfriend that escalated in side of her home, when she grabbed a razor blade.

Johannes slashed her boyfriend on both sides of his neck and just below his lower lip, causing severe lacerations. The victim, a Brentwood resident, then fled from the residence and notified police. Responding officers assisted the seriously injured victim on the street and arrested Johannes, who had followed the victim outside. The victim was transported to a local area hospital by ambulance.

Johannes is being charged with second-degree Assault, second-degree Menacing and fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Nassau County Detective Vincent Garcia said Johannes had no previous record. He also said the injuries she inflicted on her boyfriend might not have been premeditated.

“She could have just had (the razor blade) there; it might not have been premeditated. It could have been for protection,” Garcia said. “Some people have razor blades on them for opening boxes.”

Johannes was arraigned in Hempstead’s First District Court on May 6.
