The full day pre-K program offered by Franklin Square schools will be expanded during the 2022-2023 school year, according to a statement released by the Franklin Square Union Free School District.

Currently, one full day pre-K class is currently offered at each of Franklin Square’s three school buildings. Starting in September 2022, two full day pre-K classes will be held at John Street School, Polk Street School and Washington Street School.

Additionally, one half day class held in the morning and one half day class held in the evening will be available at Washington Street School for all families in the Franklin Square district, regardless of the student’s zoned home school, the statement said.

A lottery for full day pre-K openings will be held by the district during the second week of January. In order to be eligible for the lottery, you must be completely registered no later than Dec. 17. To completely register, you must complete an online registration and schedule an in-person appointment with the Registrar’s Office. All pre-K classes are capped at 18 students. Transportation is not available for pre-K students. To secure a spot in the half day classes, email Registrar Laura Langstrand at llangstrand@franklinsquare.k12.ny.us by Dec. 17.
