Robbery at Elmont Dunkin’ Donuts
    The Dunkin’ Donuts at 238-19 Linden Blvd. in Elmont was robbed on Aug. 22, at 1:23 a.m., by an unknown, 34-year-old black man, according to 5th Precinct detectives.
    According to police, after the man made a purchase and was handing the cashier change, he displayed a handgun and demanded money. The cashier then surrendered an unknown amount of U.S. currency and the subject fled on foot in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported. The man was described as 5’4,” weighing approximately 130 pounds.

5 shots fired at vehicle in Elmont

    A gray BMW traveling westbound on Byron Ave. in Elmont on Aug. 17, at 1:32 p.m., was shot at approximately five times by a gray Nissan traveling eastbound. All parties left the scene, and it is unknown if there are any injuries at this time. Fifth Squad detectives are investigating an the incident as an attempted assault.

Philip and Sons Jewelry Store robbed
    Philip and Sons Jewelry Store, located at 993 Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square, was robber on Aug. 17, at 9:40 a.m., after two men entered the store, one of which was armed with a handgun.
    According to 5th Precinct detectives, one of the men approached a store worker and held him at gunpoint and then tied the hands of another worker, a 56-year-old man. The other man then removed assorted jewelry from the display cases, shelves and safe, and also took a .38 caliber Ruger gun.
    The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction, by unknown means. No customers or employees were in the store at the time of the robbery, and no injuries were reported. One subject has been described as a white man, 5’9,” with a stocky build, in his mid-20s, with brown hair. The other has been described as a black man, 6’1,” with a slim build, in his mid-20s, and wearing a baseball-style cap.

V.S. Deli robbed
    Two black men armed with a handgun and mace entered Valley Stream Deli, at 1021 Elmont Rd. in North Valley Stream, on Aug. 18 at 2:30 p.m., and sprayed mace on two employees and two customers present in the store before removing an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.
    One of the men also took a customer’s wallet containing cash and personal papers. The victims suffered redness to the eyes, but no further injuries were reported.
    The subjects have been described as black men, both about 5’8” tall and thin, wearing dark colored masks and dark clothing.
