Franklin Square resident arrested after receiving $158,000 in fraudulently purchased diamonds

The Nassau County Police Department’s Electronics Squad and Fraud & Forgery Section reported the arrest of a Franklin Square man on May 29 at 7:08 p.m. in Franklin Square.

According to detectives, Wilfredo Franco Ramirez, 42, of 102 Courthouse Road, knowingly received a package containing fraudulently purchased natural loose diamonds valued at approximately $158,000. Ramirez was arrested without incident. No injuries were reported.

Ramirez was charged with second-degree grand larceny and first-degree scheme to defraud. He was arraigned May 30 in First District Court.
