The Mother’s Club affiliated with Boy Scouts of America Troop 93, which is based in Franklin Square, is holding a plant sale on Saturday, May 7 to raise funds for both the troop and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2718 outside the Franklin Square VFW Post location at 68 Lincoln Rd.

“What can we do to help the boys and help the vets?” Bridget Stevola, the head of the Mother’s Club recalled thinking last year before the group’s first plant sale, explaining the impetus for the event.

Last year, the event raised over $8,000. “It was such a success last year,” Stevola said, adding that the Mother’s Club plans to hold the plant sale annually.

Bedding flats will be sold for $20 per flat, or 48 plants, as well as at $3 for a six-pack. All bedding flat colors can be mixed and matched. Eight-inch hanging baskets will be sold for $17; 10-inch hanging baskets will be sold for $22.
The plant sale will be held on May 7 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Email Troop93MothersClub@gmail.com for further information.
