In honor of Woodmere resident Eric Matza, who died on May 28 at age 55, Five Towns Community Chest raised $1,800 and donated the money to Hatzalah, the volunteer medical service, to purchase an automated external defibrillator.

Five Towns Community Chest’s second annual Flapjack Breakfast raised approximately $1,600 that will be used to help repair damage that occurred to the outdoor classroom and playground of the Early Childhood Learning Center in Inwood in Hurricane Sandy.
