A 48-year-old man who was making a Chinese food delivery by car to 131 Butler Ave. in Elmont yesterday, at 9:40 p.m, was robbed and injured by two men.

According to Nassau County 5th Precinct detectives, the deliveryman parked his car across the street from the home on Butler Avenue, walked up to the front gate of the house and was then approached from behind by a man, who placed him in a choke hold. A second man then punched the deliveryman in the face, causing a laceration to his nose.

The men stole $300 in cash from the deliveryman's pocket, and then threw him to the ground. The suspects then entered the deliveryman’s 2001 gray Nissan Sentra (with the license plate DVP3773), which was left running, and fled southbound on Butler Boulevard and then westbound on Surprise Street.

According to police, the victim refused medical attention for his injury. He described the victims as both black men, about 5 feet and nine inches tall, with thin builds. One of the men was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and the other was wearing dark colored clothing.

According to the 5th Precinct, yesterday's incident was the fourth crime targeting deliveryman in the precinct since June. Two incidents have occurred in Elmont since June, one in Lakeview and one in Valley Stream.
