7 injured in Franklin Square crash

A chain-reaction crash involving three vehicles on Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square injured seven on April 19, around 6 p.m., according to the Franklin Square-Munson Fire Department.

According to the F.S. department, the accident occurred in the eastbound lane of the roadway, near Franklin Avenue in Franklin Square, and the most seriously damaged vehicle was a sedan that was crushed between another sedan and a panel van during the accident.

Multiple fire department and police ambulances were on the scene. According to the fire department, six of the injured individuals were transported to area hospitals by Nassau County Police Department, Franklin Square-Munson Fire Department and West Hempstead Fire Department ambulances; one injured individual refused to be transported.
