Cops: 2 men robbed Elmont resident

A robbery occurred on March 11 at 11:15 p.m., in Elmont, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

According to detectives, a 65-year-old man was walking on Hempstead Turnpike, when he was approached by two black men. One of the subjects, who was approximately 5’ 08,” placed an unknown metal object to the back of the victim’s neck and then dragged the victim behind  dumpsters in a nearby courtyard, police said, adding that the subjects then began yelling, cursing and demanded personal belongings.

The subjects took jewelry, a black watch and an unknown amount of U.S. currency before fleeing on foot toward Elmont Road. No further descriptions are available, and no injuries were reported.


Residential burglary

At 12:06 p.m. on Feb. 7. a home on Parkway Drive was reportedly burglarized.

A home on Park Lane South in Franklin Square was reportedly burglarized between 8:30 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. on Feb. 10.

A home on Elmont Road was reportedly burglarized between Jan. 1 and Feb. 12.


Grand larceny

Property was reportedly stolen from a vehicle that was parked on Madison Avenue in Franklin Square on Feb. 7, between 12:01 a.m. and 7 a.m. No damage was reported to the vehicle.

Property was reportedly stolen from an unlocked vehicle that was parked on Madison Avenue in Franklin Square between 8 p.m. on Feb. 6 and 9 a.m. on Feb. 7. Damage to the vehicle was also reported.


Grand larceny, tires and rims

Two tires and rims were reportedly stolen from a vehicle that was parked on Claflin Boulevard in Franklin Square on Feb. 7.

Four tires and rims were reportedly stolen from a vehicle that was parked in a driveway on Amethyst Street in Elmont between 1:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on Feb. 8.

Criminal mischief

The windshield wipers of a vehicle that was parked on Biltmore Avenue in Elmont between 7 p.m. on Feb. 8 and 8 a.m. on Feb. 9 were reportedly ripped off of the vehicle. Additionally, all four tires were reportedly deflated, and numerous scratches were inflicted onto the vehicle.

The front window of a home on Atlantic Street in Franklin Square was reportedly damaged on March 4 at 2:45 a.m.


Burglary

A burglary was reported on Benson Avenue in Elmont on March 2, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

A burglary was reported on Seville Street in Franklin Square on March 4, between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.

Sleepy’s store, located on Hempstead Tpke. in Franklin Square, was reportedly burglarized on Feb. 29, at 6:45 a.m.

Silver Alert: Norma Colon, Elmont

A Silver Alert has been issued for 17-year-old Norma Colon of Elmont. Police say she was last seen on March 4. Additionally, police said, she suffers from epilepsy and seizures disorders, and requires medication.
