The St. Catherine of Sienna School, located on New Hyde Park Road in Franklin Square, was burglarized between 9 p.m. on March 15 and 9 a.m. on March 16, according to the Nassau County Police Department's 5th Precinct.
On March 30 at 1:50 p.m., local police arrested Franklin Square resident Raymond Henry, 42, for stealing materials from the St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Franklin Square. According to 5th Precinct officer Daniel Danzi, Henry was arrested for the March 15-16 burglary, reported at St. Catherine's school (located next to the church).
Police said that Henry had removed various metal from the church, and sold it for scrap at a recycling facility in New Hyde Park.
Henry has been charged with third-degree burglary, and will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on March 31, detectives said.
Grand larceny, tires/rims
Tires and rims were reportedly stolen from a vehicle that was parked in the driveway of a home on Lydia Avenue in Elmont on March 3, between 12:01 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. The vehicle was left on bricks, in the driveway of the home.
Larceny/theft offenses
A laptop computer was reportedly stolen from a home on Monroe Street in Franklin Square on March 16, between 2:15 a.m. and 6 a.m.
A laptop computer was reportedly stolen from a home on James Street in Franklin Square between 7 p.m. on March 15 and 8:41 a.m. on March 16.
Criminal mischief
The door handle of a shed located on Harrison Avenue in Franklin Square was reported damaged on March 16, between 3-5 a.m.
