The Franklin Square Union Free School District came together to bring the community a “tale as old as time.”
Over 70 students and staff from the district’s three elementary schools — John Street School, Polk Street School and Washington Street School — performed the first annual districtwide production of the Disney classic “Beauty and the Beast Jr.” from March 16 to March 19.
Plaza Theatrical Productions — a local theater company who frequently puts on shows at Elmont Memorial Library — helped out by providing direction, choreography, stage management and music.
According to the school district, all four of the performances were sold out.
