During the Franklin Square Public Libary’s board of trustees meeting on Tuesday, March 29, at 7 p.m., Rita Temperino and Bill Youngfert, the incumbent who is running for re-election, addressed the library’s board of trustees and members of the public, about why they should be elected for the soon-to-be-available trustee position. Youngfert discussed the library's recent installment of solar panels and its plans for the spring, among several other recent implementations at the library that he has helped worked on, as a current library trustee.

The Franklin Square Public Library will hold its annual budget vote and trustee election at the library on Wednesday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Copies of the proposed 2011-12 budget have been mailed to all residents, and are available at the library. Those who are registered to vote, and have voted in general elections within the last four years, are eligible to vote. Others should register during the special registration session on Wednesday, April 6, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Absentee ballot applications are now available at the Circulation Desk, during regular library hours.

A vote to elect one library trustee for a five-year term will also take place on April 13. For more information, call (516) 488-3444.
