Police use tracking device to solve Franklin Square robbery

Michael Natindim, 33, of Elmhurst, Queens, was arrested by Nassau County's 5th Squad detectives on Nov. 16 for stealing a laptop computer and other personal items from a home on Monroe Street in Franklin Square last week.

Police were able to solve the crime after the victim, who had a tracking device on her laptop, notified the investigating detective that her laptop was being used in Elmhurst, Queens. On Nov. 15, able to provide police with Natindim's name and address.

According to police, Natindim, entered the Franklin Square home on Nov. 8 at 12:01 a.m., by cutting the screen of a rear window. Once inside, he took a laptop computer, Coach pocketbook and wallet, credit cards and cash, then fled the scene.

On Nov. 16, detectives arrested Natindim at his home, where the Franklin Square resident's laptop computer and Coach pocketbook were found. Natindim is being charged with second-degree burglary, and was arraigned on Nov. 16 in Hempstead's First District Court.
