New York State Senator Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick presented the New York State Empire Award to Plattduetsche Park in Franklin Square, recognizing the longtime local business for excellence, community impact and contributions to the local economy.

Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick visited the restaurant to present the official award and congratulate its owners.

“Rich in history dating back almost a century, Plattduetsche Park has long served as a place where culture, tradition, and community come together. Through its continued outreach and commitment to preserving heritage, it has become far more than a business, it is a true local institution. I was proud to present Plattduetsche Park with this award in recognition of their outstanding service and lasting impact on our community,” Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick said.

“Plattduetsche Park has been a proud part of the Franklin Square community since 1939. It is truly an honor to serve our neighbors and friends. As we look to the future, we remain dedicated to growing together with our community and our great state!” restaurant manager Christian Mollenthiel said.

The New York State Empire Award is the highest honor for small businesses that can be presented by the New York State Senate. It recognizes outstanding local businesses in the community.

Plattduetsche Park, a Franklin Square staple long known as a destination for Germanic culture and cuisine, will now be recognized by New York state for its contributions to the community.
