State Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages is working with Island Harvest to hold a virtual food drive for people in the 22nd Asssembly District who are affected by the coronavirus. Those in need of immediate assistance should call Island Harvest at (631) 873-4775.
"Although issues relating to food insecurity are not new to our district, our current situation has exacerbated the need for additional food assistance resources,” Solages said in a statement. “I am grateful to Island Harvest and its partner agencies for adapting to the unique needs of Long Islanders during these uncertain times.”
People can buy items for their neighbors in need by following the link www.fooddriveonline.org/islandharvest/index.php?c=93e124a89. Questions can be directed to Solages’s office, at (516) 599-2972. More information can be found at www.solagesny.com.
