Men from Freeport and Uniondale arrested for illegal possession of gambling devices at Roosevelt businesses

Two men were arrested during a quality-of-life initiative conducted by Nassau County police officers on Monday evening in Roosevelt. 

According to the police, Strategic Response Team officers conducted a license premise inspection  at Good Food and Shake and Stop and Go Food Market, both in Roosevelt. 

Erick Hernandez Martinez, 33, of Freeport, was arrested in connection to two illegal electronic gambling machines found at Good Food and Shake on Nassau Road in Roosevelt. The machines were seized along with $1,276.

Martinez has been charged with possession of gambling devices, unlicensed public assembly, disorderly premise and operating without a valid New York State Liquor License. 

Rafael Rodriguez, 63, of Uniondale, was arrested in connection to four illegal electronic gambling machines found at Stop and Go Food Market on Babylon Turnpike in Roosevelt. The machines were also seized along with $390. 

Rodriguez has been charged with possession of gambling devices, unlicensed public assembly and disorderly premise. 

Both men were released on appearance tickets returnable to the First District Court in Hempstead on July 20.
