The bill has now gone to the State Senate, which, like the Assembly, has overwhelmingly passed it seven times. Yes, seven times. But Gov. Kathy Hochul has vetoed it four times. And her predecessor, Andrew Cuomo, a fellow Democrat, vetoed it three times.

Our state was once the center of the universe economically, culturally and politically. Today the opposite is true. Costs have skyrocketed nonstop for years, families feel the burden of taxes and utilities, and the state that once led the nation is losing ground.

Nearly 300,000 regulations drive up the cost of housing, energy and doing business. One New Yorker leaves the state every 2 minutes and 23 seconds. Those aren’t just statistics — they’re a signal that the American Dream is no longer affordable here due to Albany’s failed leadership.
