With music in the air, smiles all around and a decisive football victory, North Shore Schools’ 2025 Homecoming brought together students, alumni and neighbors for a day filled with pride and celebration on Oct. 18.

Held on a picture-perfect Saturday, the festivities began with a family-friendly carnival featuring games for all ages, drawing Pre-K through 12th-grade students, families and faculty from across Sea Cliff, Glen Head and nearby hamlets.

In the morning, the district hosted its inaugural Alumni Brunch in the high school cafeteria. Superintendent Chris Zublionis, Board of Education President Andrea Macari — a North Shore alumni — and other district leaders welcomed more than 75 alumni, including members of the Class of 1980 and Richie Lindlom from the school’s first graduating class in 1958.

Guests enjoyed live music from the high school’s string ensemble, led by Jason Domingo and Justin Wheeler, and a tour of the school. Dr. Mari Saunders, Class of 1943, also joined the day’s events.

The celebration continued on the athletic fields with student-led sports clinics and a midday Fan Fest where older students taught younger ones how to pass a football, swing a bat and cheer on their teams. The Viking Booster Club kept fans fueled with grilled fare and concessions, while parent organizations sold school merchandise to raise funds.

The day’s highlight came at 2 p.m., when the Vikings varsity football team took the field and defeated East Rockaway 27-8 to roaring applause. Halftime featured a performance by the pep band, drum line and cheerleaders — and a group photo of returning alumni. District leaders thanked the Homecoming Committee, parent groups, faculty, students, alumni and local volunteers for making the event possible.
