The North Shore Coalition Against Substance Abuse held its annual golf outing Monday at Brookville Country Club. According to CASA Co-President Sean Trager, the outing is the organization’s largest fundraiser that allows it to carry out its mission throughout the year.
CASA was founded in 2017 to help create sustainable behavioral and environmental changes to abate youth substance abuse. Within the last few years, CASA has added initiatives focused on mental health in general. The organization serves students and parents within North Shore School District.
Monday marked CASA’s fifth annual golf outing, including a golf scramble followed by a cocktail hour. According to Trager, 120 people turned out for this year’s outing. CASA’s fundraising goal was $50,000.
