North Shore High School’s chapter of Tri-M Music Honor Society inducted 26 students at its ceremony on Oct. 15. The ceremony was led by music educators and Tri-M advisors Jason Domingo, Brandon Bromsey and David Catalano, alongside Tri-M student officers.

Tri-M recognizes students for their musical achievements, academic excellence, leadership and commitment to community service. Through mentoring, tutoring, performances and community outreach, members use their musical skills to make a difference in the lives of others.

The 2026-27 inductees included Jill Accetta, Daniela Agustin, Derek Baez, Maggie Collier, Emma DeBlasio, Evan Dominguez, Noelle Dorman, Julia Friedberg, Declan Goff, Rowan Gruszecki, Christine Hsieh, Izzy Kattan, Chrissy Leach, Erin Leder, Leo Lei, Alice, Lin, Liya Liu, Ethan Marco, Abigail Monte, Savannah Plosky, Kaia Pollio, Anna Reidy, Felix Ruderman, Parker Snow, Yarabella Yang and Perlie Yu.

Keynote speaker Lesley Pryde Haley became a lifetime member of Tri-M, and Baez, Kieran Goff, Ryan Marco and Snow performed. The North Shore high School String Ensemble including Paolo Wang and Bella Atmadaja on violin, Chivonne Cheung on viola and Anne Kelly on cello performed as well.

Director of Fine and Performing Arts Dalia Rodriguez reflected on the evening.

“All of the speakers were truly inspirational, but (Mia) Pinto’s words especially resonated with me,” Rodriguez said. “She shared that when walking down the music hallway, you can always see a smiling face. Hearing how much the music wing means to her and her peers warmed my heart. It was a beautiful reminder that, together, our teachers and students have created something beyond a place to make music, a community built on care, belonging and a sense of safety, where students feel valued and supported.”

Rodriguez praised the Tri-M officers and advisors for their leadership and dedication. She congratulated this year’s inductees.

“I cannot wait to see how you continue this wonderful tradition of making a difference through your talents, volunteerism and love of music,” Rodriguez said.

To be eligible for induction into Tri-M, students must be actively involved in their school’s musical programs. Additionally, students must participate in the New York State School of Music Association and reach Level V.

Students are recognized for their academic and music successes and their leadership qualities. Tri-M enables students around the world to utilize their passion for music and give back to their community, one note at a time.

The Arts Angels at North Shore, Tri-M members, family members, Interim Superintendent Tom Dolan and Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Carol Ann Smyth also attended the induction ceremony.
