Senior IDs available in Oyster Bay

Posted

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and New York State Assemblyman Jake Blumencranz will be providing residents aged 60 and over with a free senior ID card. The program will take place on Oct. 22, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Oyster Bay Community Center located at 59 Church Street in Oyster Bay.

“I’m proud to join with State Assemblyman Jake Blumencranz to offer this potentially lifesaving program to our residents,” Saladino wrote in a statement. “These senior ID cards can provide first responders with vital information if one becomes unconscious or incapacitated, making it easier to receive expedited and informed care in the case of a medical emergency.”

“Ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents is a top priority.,” Blumencranz wrote. “By partnering with Supervisor Saladino on this important initiative, we’re making it easier for first responders to access critical health information in an emergency. This simple but effective tool can help save lives, and I encourage all residents to take advantage of this free program.”

This ID card serves as an important tool in the event of an emergency as it allows first responders to quickly identify health and contact information. Photos and cards will be processed on-site, and residents will take their ID card home from the event. Please note this is not a legal or Federal ID.

The Town of Oyster Bay senior ID card will include pertinent information such as allergies and medical conditions, as well as a photo and an emergency contact. Residents are asked to bring a photo ID with proof of residency. To RSVP or for more information, please call (516) 624-6380.
