Friends, family and music lovers packed New York City’s Cafe Wha? as the North Shore indie rock band Visual Cliff took to the stage. With Luca Antinori on guitar and vocals, Ethan S. Snyder on bass and vocals, Aidan Arevalo on second guitar and Angelo Antinori on drums, the band played mostly original music, and some covers, on Sunday night.
Visual Cliff secured the Cafe Wha? gig by winning Gotham Battle of the Bands, hosted by Gotham City Networking, in June. Six bands were selected to compete in the battle, held at Club Groove in New York City.
Several iconic musicians played at Cafe Wha? in the early stages of their careers, including Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen.
Visual Cliff played originals from across the band’s repertoire, including some songs from several years ago and others that were written more recently, like “Look Around,” which the band members have described as the best song they have written.
