About 100 people came to pay respects and honor a life served helping others at the Salvation Army in Freeport on June 6. Jim Reed was remembered as a kind and giving person who always acted in the best interest of those around him. Reed died April 27 at South Nassau Communities Hospital after a long illness. His daughters Danielle, Brittany and Stephanie survive him.
