A month after 23-year-old Ramone Green, of Long Beach, was murdered in broad daylight on a busy Uniondale street, Nassau County police arrested a Hempstead man on Saturday and charged him in the fatal stabbing.

Following an investigation – and the announcement of a $5,000 cash reward for information leading to an arrest – police said they found one of two suspects involved in the brutal attack, 23-year-old Raymond Wade, in Westbury on March 8 and charged him with second-degree murder for his role in the slaying of Green, a former Long Beach High School student, on Jerusalem Avenue. According to detectives, Green was stabbed to death on Feb. 7 at 11:30 a.m., when he was approached by Wade and another man as he stood in front of Hansen Cleaners at 433 Jerusalem Ave.

Green, police said, was “stabbed about his body.” He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 12:08 p.m. by a staff physician.

Detectives did not say whether they had determined a motive for the killing, but said they are still looking for the second man involved in the attack.

Wade was scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday, March 9, at First District Court in Hempstead.

Police are asking anyone with information about the second individual to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
