Police search for killer
A 33-year-old man was found shot to death in the parking lot near Sycamore Street in Long Beach Friday night, Nassau County Police said.
Community residents Sunday identified the dead man as Shawn Usher, a 33-year-old father of twin nine-year-old boys. Police could not immediately confirm the information.
Police are currently searching for the shooter, or shooters.
Homicides are extremely rare in Long Beach, with only several occurring each year.
Police said the victim was found at about 10:38 p.m. Officers said he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The unidentified man was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing, Nassau County Police said.
