Police: Man shot and hospitalized in Long Beach

Long Beach police announced Sunday that a man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot in Long Beach.

On May 23 at about 5:30 a.m., police responded to a report of shots fired and a male struck by gunfire at 431 East Broadway. Police located a male with a gunshot wound and transported him to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said multiple rounds were fired into a common hallway entrance. One of the rounds struck the victim and one of the rounds went through the window of a separate occupied apartment.

No one in the other apartment was injured. Long Beach Detectives are actively investigating and anyone with information is asked to contact the Long Beach Detective Division at (516) 705-7320.
