SUV overturns on East Park Avenue in Long Beach

Posted

A woman who overturned her SUV and was injured in Long Beach was airlifted to a local hospital last Sunday afternoon.

The woman was driving her SUV westbound on East Park Avenue, between Franklin and Neptune Boulevards, when the vehicle flipped onto the driver’s side and she suffered a serious injury to her left arm at about 3 p.m. on April 11, according to Scott Kemins, commissioner of the Long Beach Fire Department.

“We had to remove the windshield from the car and extricate the woman through the vehicle,” Kemins said, adding that she was the only passenger in her vehicle.

The woman was transported to East School on Neptune Boulevard, where a Nassau County Police Department helicopter took her the Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow.

At press time, police were unable to provide further information about the accident and the injured woman.
