At its fourth annual District Art Show, Long Beach Public Schools presented a special weekend exhibition of student artwork at the Magnolia Senior Center.

The exhibition included three-dimensional pieces, ceramics, computer art, crafts, drawings, fashion design, painting, photography and printmaking, all created by elementary, middle and high school students. Musical entertainment was provided by middle school guitarist Alexandra Brodsky and high school guitarists Ariana McMillan and Daniel Feldman, setting an elegant mood for visitors as they viewed the artwork at the show.

There was also a special dedication ceremony to present board members of the Long Beach Historical and Preservation Society with a copper relief project depicting historical architecture of Long Beach. This artwork, which was created by middle school students, will have a permanent home at the historical society museum at 226 West Penn St.

At a separate event, Long Beach City Hall presented a special exhibition of student art. The exhibit, which opened with a festive reception, featured a compilation of the works created by the middle school Studio in Art class. These students were chosen for this class based on their advanced artistic abilities and creative aptitude. The exhibit remained on display for several days for all to enjoy.
