Some 3,000 student athletes from schools through Nassau County united last week to participate in the 20th Anniversary of the Annual Friendship Games, sponsored and organized by the Lakeview Youth Federation and the Malverne Union Free School District.
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. and other famous humanitarians of our time, students came together in the face of friendship and peace to compete in track and field meets throughout the day. The closing ceremony featured some of the day’s best stars, as well as local politicians and honored guests, among them, Lakeview Olympic Gold Medalist Derrick Adkins.
