The Lynbrook Recreation Center made a splash this summer with a patriotic “Pool Party in the USA,” bringing local families together for an afternoon of swimming, games and entertainment at the village pool on July 25.
The event, presented by the Lynbrook Recreation Center and Lynbrook Village Pool, was held in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. Pool members enjoyed relay races, a live DJ, dancing, temporary tattoos, prizes, snacks and other activities throughout the afternoon.
“Celebrating America 250, this event featured pool games, a dance party, snacks, and plenty of family fun,” Mayor Alan Beach said.
Beach and members of the Village Board also attended the celebration, giving residents an opportunity to enjoy the pool facility and its recent improvements.
“The Village Board and I were on hand to showcase the new amenities at the pool facility, which families will continue to enjoy all season long,” Beach said.
The festivities continued into the evening with a performance by American Ride, a Toby Keith tribute band, at the gazebo.
